Head of Finance

Our client is a leading financial services company who are looking to hire a Head of Finance. This role will report to the CFO and have direct responsibility for the company’s finance function and is responsible for the implementation of the financial strategy of the company set by the Board of Directors to meet overall strategic objectives.
Role Responsibilities:
• Responsible for preparation of all statutory, regulatory and management accounts.
• Together with the CFO, provide advice and direction to the core committees on all finance-related matters
• Responsible for budgeting and re-forecasting process, including agreement and reporting on targets and KPI's for the company
• Establishment and delivery of an IT strategy for the finance department to cover the development of financial systems, and their integration with the business line systems.
• Responsible for the monitoring and reporting of treasury, capital and liquidity management
• Responsible for identification, monitoring and mitigation of financial & operational risks within Finance department
• Develop and submit an operational plan into the wider annual strategic planning process which provides the milestones for the strategic direction of the finance department
• The recruitment, performance management, reward, development and retention of appropriate staff to meet current and planned future needs


Candidate Requirements:
• A professionally qualified accountant
• Minimum 10 years post qualification experience of which a significant element has been at senior management level in the life insurance industry.
• Proven people management skills.
• Excellent numerical skills and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Exposure to latest insurance developments – e.g. Solvency II.
